It is that time of the week again - Wacky Wednesday....wooooohooooo
Right now I am totally into the following song and I just love the video to bits. It's really nothing exiting and done so many times before but somehow it just hit a nerve with me.
Somehow I think my Word Of the Week fits neatly with the above rock song, watcha think?
lionize \LY-uh-nyz\, transitive verb:
To treat or regard as an object of great interest or importance.
And it also fits perfectly well with my Product Of the Week. This Wednesday I showing of my {bad} crochet skills *snigger* The other day, when I was bored and without computer I sat and did a couple of crochet flowers for upcoming projects. Little did I know those suckers are so quick to do and all of a sudden I was surrounded by them....so, what better idea than to put them up for sale.
You are in with a chance to win a set of 4 flowers {2 beige and 2 brown} if you leave a comment under this post. Alternatively, if you don't trust my Random Number Generator, you can of course buy some of the flowers {here}

Another sunday and another challenge has gone live at my fave haunt for inspiration at the moment {scrapping the music}. It just amazes me how different we all create when using a song as the main source of a starting point. #34 is the song {shine} by Anna Nalick. I can't say that I knew the song, but that's the beauty of it - you don't need to know the songs to get your creative juices flowing.
If you have no particular plans for NSD weekend yet, why not come and check us out at {scrapitude} - we have some fun challenges planned for everyone and as we are just a small community, you have enough time to scrap along and still chat with like-minded peeps. In honor of NSD we also have a fabulous raffle. A ticket for a chance to win {this} fabby Kit is only £2.50 - you don't want to miss the opportunity to possibly win a prize pack worth approx £30...
International participants are welcome if they are willing to pay the difference in postage between UK and their country of destination should they have the winning ticket.
Good luck!

No, I haven't gone cartoony on you, I just can't be bothered to write Song Of the Week, Word Of the Week and Product Of the Week out in the title....yeah, I know not only am I beautiful but also very clever...ha ha ha ha ha (and so dang funny)
Are you ready for another Wednesday full of incredibly important information?? I am sure you're itching to know which pearls of wisdom I am going to throw at you so I am not gonna drag this out any longer.
You have to excuse the next video - in my defense when those boys were around I was a in full puberty mode and therefore I didn't know any better. I was sooooooooooo in love, sat crying in front of the telly when they came on (Lyndon says it's probably because deep down I knew they were ugly...but he's a bloke so what does he know). Granted, when I look at them today I do wonder what puberty does to do because quite frankly - they are NOT good looking AT ALL (and yes I WAS that shallow in my teenage years - I liked bands because of their looks and not because of their music)...but their music still rocks my world today *sigh*
How can I top that performance with the Word Of the Day you might wonder?? Hold on to your knickers, because you don't want to miss this:
salubrious \suh-LOO-bree-us\, adjective:
Favorable to health; promoting health; healthful.
Definitely something I am NOT doing unless you count having a bottle of wine every weekend to be salubrious. Now try teaming that with last weeks objurgate and you have wonderful possibilties:
If you don't live a more salubrious life I will objurgate all knowledge of you!
Wow, where did that come from?? I am a closet poet, me.
I better get back to serious matters otherwise I might just lose the few readers I have left *snigger*
Soooooo, you wanna know what my POW is this week?? And you want another chance of winning said POW? Of course you do...
You might have noticed that of late I am terribly addicted to stamps and my new firm favourite are definitely the singles from (autumn leaves) . So reasonable to buy and so cute. My favourite at the moment has to be the butterfly (scroll to the bottom on above mentioned link to see) and if you leave a comment under this post your name will be entered into next weeks draw for this particular stamp.
Of course, you can always stop by the shop and buy the other designs :)
Happy Humpday everyone

What a productive weekend - even though, I wasn't REALLY productive this weekend only the projects have gone live yesterday,
First and foremost the newest challenge at {scrapping the music} went up - I love what the DT girls came up and I kinda like my own effort too *snigger*
Then there is {pencil lines}, being an honorary DT Member I get the chance to play along whenever I feel like and for this sketch I bloomin' well felt like. It was done by the wonderful {jana eubank}. Check out what the girls did with the sketch - simply stunning.
When I first saw the sketch I knew which pictures I wanted to use - when I hung out with "my" Mafia gang last June at {nat's}. We had so much fun and only a little over a month ago before I go back...woooohooooo!
And last, but ny no means least, I was asked to provide a layout for the {scrapmuse / pencil lines collarboration} - what a weekend hu?

Well, I don't know what's up with me right now - I am seriously bored with everything...nothing holds my interest for longer than about 5 minutes these days.
I think I am also quite enjoying being on the self-pity train right now and revel in everything that goes wrong *sigh*
Scrapping is somehow totally out of the question at the moment now that I finished the retirement book for our Customer Services Director, I am all scrapped out. I managed to do a layout for {pencil lines} though and I enjoyed the process but after I was finished I though "I am bored"
Not sure if I ever mentioned it but while my computer was broken I took up knitting again and I thoroughly enjoyed it until yesterday....two months I spent knitting a dress only to find out it doesn't fit AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. Seriously, NOTHING works for me right now - for every bit of good fortune I had over the last year I get crap thrown in my face for the last couple of months.
Or maybe it is just PMS?

I love music - I would not be able to exist without it and there are some songs that have captured me more than others. Those I would like to share with you every Wednesday (if I can get hold of them on {you tube} that is.
This week, let me introduce to you a song, which has been my favourite for almost 2 years now and I never grow tired of it. The funny thing is that even Lyndon loves that song (and he generally only listens to Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd).
Every time I hear this it makes me smile and it has the campest video you can imagine.
You might have not noticed but I am also a very vocal person (yeah, I know...hard to believe) and therefore I love words - lots of them. When one word would be enough to describe something trust me to use 75 instead. I mean, c'mon we have all these wonderful words, might as well make use of them, right? And as I receive a Word Of The Day vial email you will find my Word Of The Week here on Wednesdays too.
For today, let me introduce you to OBJURGATE, which means: To express strong disapproval of, to critizise severelyet you are really glad you looked at my blog today, hu?)
But there's more - would you believe that I love to create?? Yep, I sure do and so I would like to introduce to you my product of the week. Guess what - it will be featured here every Wednesday *snigger*
You know, sometimes I am so funny that I scare myself.
But I digress
My product for today has to be this gorgeous sheet of vintage office ledger sticker from {crafty secrets} which you can also buy from my shop. You can see our sticker section {here}
However, one lucky blog reader will win my product of the week - just because....I love RAK'ing things away, so if you like the ledger sheet all you need to do is leave a comment for this post and next Tuesday I will pick a random winner!

TITLE: ~*~ STM #32 "Love Like This ~*~
DATE: 04/14/2008 09:09:43 PM

A new challenge is up at {scrapping the music}, this week the song is "Love Like This" by Natasha Bedingfield. Agreed, my layout is a bit simple compared to my usual style, but putting more embellies on would have taken the focus away from the picture and the lyrics used for journaling.
Materials: ** Rusty Pickle papers, trims, buttons, stickers * Arctic Frog Rub Ons * Bazzill Kraft cardstock * Zig Millenium pen **
In addition we now have a {message board} at STM where you can get involved, chat to the DT Members and get to know other STM "players" from all across the globe.
Today I treated myself to an ipod shuffle and after I cursed my stupid laptop and its Vista-madness I got it to work and I have to say "where have you been all my life??". Gawd - so many songs and so easy to transfer. At least one thing is going right for a change :)
Other than that i am incredibly busy as I promised to make a "farewell" album for our retiring Customer Services Director and I only have a week left to make pages for all 50+ entrants *faint*
But I am not complaining, 'twas my own fault for leaving it so late...

Friday I was lucky enough to meet up with two of my fellow {'tudes} namely {sally} and {chris} . Even though it was only a short-lived meeting during my lunch break, it was thoroughly enjoyable. I hope we can do this again soon, but with more time and not being squashed in amongst 1,798 peeps eating at the West Quay food hall.
Of course I couldn't resist stopping by at {krispy kreme} for a couple of figure enhancing treats...
Back home I continued to get to grips with my new laptop and while I am pretty sure that Dell is a good make Vista is really pissing me off BIG time. None -> and I repeat: N-O-N-E of my programmes run on that flippin' waste of poop. I can't use my Flip video, as Movie Maker for Vista does not accept AVI files (WTF is up with that?? if it worked for friggin' XP why can't it work for Vista?). Adobe PSE does not work in the same way - what I used to be able to accomplish in 3 clicks now takes me 7 (yes, I counted). Even scanning, which was done in 4 clicks before now takes 9...go figure!
It is supposed to be user friendly (I never laughed so hard) but seriously, if you can avoid Vista PLEASE DO SO!!!!
Now swiftly moving on from my frustrations to nicer things - I promised a scan of the Somerset Issue which had my Article in it, so here it is :)
Nothing as brilliant as my friend {nat's} Somerset toot though, who is going to be a COVER GIRL in June!!! I am so excited for he, as it is about time she is recognized for the trend setter and amazing scrapper she is (and I can't WAIT to meet her again in June!)
Last but by no means least, I leave you with some of my DT work for {frances meyer}
Have a good Sunday everyone

Tell you what - our Reds don't do things by half...whenever there is a European Football night involving {liverpool} you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be a nail biting experience. Twice the boys went behind and twice they came back to sink {arsenal} in a truly thrilling match.
Now they have to face {chelsea} AGAIN in the Semi-Finals on their way to the {champions league final} in Moscow.
And now for all of you who have no interest in footie and were thinking "what the heck is she on about" - I leave you with my layout for the most recent Rusty Pickle {blog challenge}

Some of you have already congratulated me on my newest gig being part of the challenge blog that is {scrapping the music}. I was so excited when I was asked to join their current Design Team - such wonderful and talented ladies. Of course I am especially ecstatic about the fact that I get to work together with my friends {nat} and {christiane} ... how fun
The most recent challenge is up for you all to play along -> see it {here}
Did you all see the latest {kits} from {the embellishment studio} ?
For March my super talented friend {sj} was asked to be guest designer and she did some awesome projects with her Kit. You can see my March projects {here}.
You might not know it but I have re-opened my little shop and attempt to get (slowly but surely) all the Wild Asparagus and Bohemia Papers from {mme} in as well as the {hero arts stamps}. Another one of our specials are the fun and funky ephemera - vintage, tags and tickets....no need to buy them in multiples of 20 now as you can get them in singles {here} .
Other than that - I am still trying to play catch up after my computer-less time :)

Tonight, a fabby announcement will be going live somewhere on the net and I am going to be part of that....all I can say is that I am super excited about it!
I know that in beginning I was really happy with my new laptop but the more I work with it, the shittier I find it - I am really, really upset. I can live with the Vista aspect, even though it is crap but the screen (even though huge) is like a mirror. In daylight it is virtually impossible to see anything on the screen but my face. You can only use the laptop without straining your eyes to find the mouse pointer when it's dark outside. We tried to blacken out the room, I put the laptop into different positions but once it is a bit brighter outside the glare on the screen is unbelievable. I have never ever experienced anything like this before...Right now I wish I would have gone for another laptop and I would not recommend this Dell Inspirion to anyone. Sure, after I have worked with it for a year I might change my mind but right now I am close to tears - it takes me forever to even write this entry as I can hardly see the screen.
But at least I worked the scanner out - according to Windows everything should be easier with Vista...well, I dispute that. What used to take me three clicks to scan a page now takes me 5 and the resizing in Adobe PSE does take more steps in Vista than it did in XP.
Did I mention lately that Vista sucks? LOL

Well I am fed up with my new best friend already - what a horrible programme Vista is. You would think that a Windows programme would be compatible with everything previous Windows but not Vista - oh no.
For the last hour or so I have tried in vain to get my scanner to work with this crappy programme and it doesn't wanna know. I have 1,5 months worth of assignments to scan and post and I can't frickin' do it because of this blasted computer.
And while I am fuming - the laptop was sold to me as the best thing to use for Videos, etc - well guess what is the one thing that doesn't work - Windows Movie Maker, the programme that was already on this laptop and which was used as a selling point...
Have a mentioned that I am falling out of love with my new toy?
So, unfortunately you won't be seeing what I did over the last months as I can't scan <insert stomping feet> and I so wanted to show you the article I wrote for Somerset Memories...how about that hu? When they requested one of my Mini-Albums which I did for the Amazing Race they also asked if I would be happy to write an article to go with it.
Last week I got my mag and I have to say I am so proud and giddy to see my first ever article

Goodness gracious me - I can't believe how I managed to be without my laptop, my pictures, my Internet for so long but I am right now celebrating with a bottle of wine that after 6 weeks I am finally mobile again...wooooohooooo
If anyone of you out there thought that I ignored you - I seriously didn't. I only had limited email access, was not able to log onto certain Message Boards and Blogs...phew, I have a LOT of catching up to do. When I just logged into my blog lines feed it told me that I have "only" 427 new posts to look at. Oh well, if that's all I shouldn't take longer than two months...*snigger*
So many things have happened in the last 1,5 months as well and I try not to bore you to tears with is and reduce my news and updated to daily {ish} digests on the blog.
There is an announcement due on April 6th as well, but you just have to come back to see what that is all about.
Before I go for tonight let me introduce you to my new best friend - my brand spanking new lappy, courtesy of my insurance company...if you are looking for a good me and contents insurance, I can highly recommend Lloyds TSB. Because they enabled me to get this beauty
new "scrapping the music" girls are - so I thought I would pay you a
visit. I look forward to follow your work over at Scrapping the Music.
