Well, I feel much better now and it just had to be said.
Men - seriously....what is it with their inability to close the frickin' doors when they leave the room?
See, we don't have central heating so we have the gas fire on in our front room in the evenings, just to have it nice and cozy. There are three doors going off from the front room (to the kitchen, hallway and spare room) and my beloved has this tendency to leave them WIDE open whenever he leaves the room.....ugh. It's no fun sitting here with an icy draft coming in from the outside.We have been playing this game for the last 5 years, that I shout at him to close them darn doors and him going "yeah, yeah"
It's not like it is physically hard to close them...you would have thought he learned by now, but oh no!
I bet Joe Elliot knows how to close doors *sigh*
So, dass musste einfach mal gesagt werden - und nun geht's mir auch schon wieder viel besser.
Maenner - warum sind sie ienfach nicht dazu in der Lage Tueren hinter sich zu schliessen? Wir haben keine Zentralheizung und haben deswegen in der Stube den Gasofen am Abend an, damit's halt kuschelig wird. Aber jedesmal wenn mein Liebster aus dem Raum geht laesst er die Tueren WEIT offen und mir zieht's eisig am Ruecken lang. Wir spielen dieses Spiel seit 5 Jahren - ich motze rum dass er doch die verdammichten Tueren schliesst und er sagt nur "ja ja"
Es ist ja nun wirklich keine physikalische Schwerstarbeit....und ich hatte eigentlich gehofft, dass er es mittlerweile gelernt hat, aber dem ist doch nicht so!

Playing catch up here today, me thinks. I have been on a crafting trip over the last days and enjoyed it totally! Granted most of the things I did were for assignments, but that doesn't exclude them from being enjoyable, right? One of the projects I made is in fact something for my little secret *giggles* - you will have to wait until next weekend when I can reveal, but I can say this much: it is a GDT spot somewhere on the net and I am really exited about it. I will leave you with a little sneak :)
In den letzten Tagen bin ich auf einem totalen Basteltrip gewesen und hatte immens viel Spass daran. Zugegeben, die meisten meiner Projekte sind fuer DT und Magazin Einsaetze, aber das muss ja nicht bedeuten, dass die Arbeit keinen Spass machen kann, oder? Eines der Projekte ist fuer mein kleines Geheimnis *kicher* - Ihr muesst schon bis naechstes Wochenende warten bevor ich mehr sagen kann, aber soviel sei schon mal verraten: es handelt sich um ein Gastdesign Spot irgendwo im Netz und ich freue mich sehr! Hier ist ein kleiner Sneak :)
And then I completed my first layout for {syc} - woohoo!! The new challenge will go live on February 1st and I am super stoked about it!!! Before I started working on the project my mojo was conspicuously missing and would only appear for a card here or there but now it is back with a vengeance. Again, I leave you with a wee sneak

Most of you probably know by now that one of my main hang-outs is {cmk} and I adore their monthly Kits. So much so that I am actually a member for both of their Kit Clubs. There is a Guest Designer Challenge every month on the board and I try to play along as often as I can - mainly because I obviously would love to be on their Team for a month but also because the challenges are always that: a CHALLENGE. I love that Lisa and her DT girls always come up with something different and this months was no exception. You are to create a layout that documents the LOVE you feel for someone/something but you cannot use the colour red or any hearts...ri-i-i-i-i-ight. Don't you agree that this is a real challenge? I knew straight away what I wanted to do because at this moment in time I am so obsessed with {dep leppard} again...*sigh*. They are my all time faves, the one consistency in my life's soundtrack and I still want to marry Joe Elliot - so, this challenge was a no-brainer for me.
Habt Ihr schon genug? Nein?? Na, dann gibt's noch mehr!
Wie sicherlich viele von Euch wissen, ist eines meiner Lieblingsforen im Netz {cmk} und ich liebe ausserdem deren Monatskits. So sehr, dass ich Mitglied in den beiden Kit Clubs vom CMK bin. Jeden Monat sucht CMK nach einem Gastdesigner und ich versuche so oft wie moeglich teilzunehmen. Natuerlich in erster Linie weil ich so gerne fuer einen Monat Teil des Teams waere, aber auch weil die Challenges wirklich genial sind. Lisa und ihre DT Maedels sind wirklich super kreativ in den Challenges und dieser Monat ist wieder so richtig Klasse. Es muss ein Layout erstellt werden, dass die Liebe fuer jemanden/etwas zeigt, aber weder die Farbe rot noch Hezren in jeglicher Form duerfen in Erscheinung treten....o-o-o-o-o-okay. Findet Ihr nicht auch, dass dies eine ordentliche Herausforderung ist? Ich wusste sofort, was ich dokumentieren wollte, denn momentan bin ich wieder so auf einem {def leppard} trip...*seufz* Die Jungs sind einfach meiner allerliebste Band, die einzige die stetig auf dem Soundtrack meines Lebens spielt und ich will auch immer noch Joe Elliot heiraten...da war dieses natuerlich ein No-Brainer fuer mich

I have been following {this} blog for some time now and fell in love with the idea behind it and with the personalities of those funky DT-gals....guess who is part of the team now? Yeppers, c'est moi!
You know I am totally excited about it and cannot wait for our February challenge. I have oodles of ideas for that one in my head!

TITLE: Cuttlebug Challenge #14 and Giveaway

Can you tell that I am overly obsessed with my {cuttlebug}? Maybe not as much as with my {elliptical trainer} but it does come a close second :)
Of course I was all over the newest challenge on the {cc blog}, prompting you to use your favourite embossing folder to make a card. Even though I pretty much like to use the {swiss dots} on almost everything, my absolute fave is the {spots and dots}.
Merkt ihr wie sehr ich ueber meinen {cuttlebug} obsessiere? Vielleicht nicht ganz so sehr, wie ueber meinen {elliptical trainer}, aber immerhin :)

TITLE: Upsy Daisy DT Work - January 2009 Pt II

Today was my turn to post on the {upsy daisy} blog. I enjoy those posts showcasing the newest products and I hope you will stop by and check the post out in full. To whet your appetite, you can see some close ups of my project, which was done purely from off-cuts.
I will soon be able to show you some previews of the brand new Stamp releases from {udd} - they are so cool they I have already placed an order for the shop. Right now it looks like a {scrapitude} exclusive!
Heute war ich dran auf dem {upsy daisy} blog zu posten. Mir machen diese posts Spass, denn dann kann ich die neusten Producte in "Aktion" zeigen. Ich hoffe Ihr schaut auf dem Blog vorbei. Um Euch ein bissl Appetit zu machen, zeige ich hier mal einige Nahaufnahmen meines Projektes, welches ausschlieslich aus Resten produziert wurde.
Bald kann ich Euch auch die allerneusten Stempel von {udd} zeigen - die sind so cool, dass ich schon gleich eine Bestellung fuer meinen Shop aufgegeben habe. Momentan sieht es so aus, als haette ich, also {scrapitude} die Teile exklusiv im Angebot.
You know how I set myself the target hat I would manage the first programme of my cross-trainer by the end of the month? Well, that went out of the window because I did it yesterday! Wooohooo - I am so excited. Now that I got the real hang of it you can hardly get me off that thing. When I came home from work today I racked up another 10 minutes. Let's see how long it takes me to increase the minutes :)
Erinnert Ihr Euch wie ich hoffte am Ende des Monats mein erstes Programm auf dem Cross-Trainer zu bewaeltigen? Na, dass hat nicht lange auf sich warten lassen, denn ich habe es gestern geschafft! Wooohooo - ich sowas von aufgeregt. Da ich nun herausgefunden habe, wie man den Trainer korrekt bedient, kann ich mit dem trainieren gar nicht aufhoeren. Als ich heute von der Arbeit nach Hause kam, bin ich sofort an den Trainer und habe eine weitere 10 Minuten Session eingelegt. mal sehen wie lange es dauert bevor ich die Session Zeit verlaengere

TITLE: Cuttlebug Challenge #13

Just a short post today - I have been slacking on many things one of which is that I still need to finish and article and a write up for the next issue of {saz} and it is very unlike me to leave it to the last minute. So now I am freakin' out, stressing like an idiot. Please don't feel sorry for me - it's my own fault and I need slappin' into gear! The other reason why I am slacking is because I have a new love:
Heute nur ein kurzer Beitrag - ich habe es in den letzten Tagen etwas schleifen lassen und eines der Dinge die ich schon laengst haette erledigen sollen sind ein Artikel und eine Kurzbeschreibung fuer die naechste {saz}. Es ist so untypisch fuer mich etwas bis zur letzten Minute aufzuschieben. Deshalb drehe ich gerade voellig durch und stresse ab wie Tier. Habt bloss kein Mitleid mit mir - ich habe mir das alles selbst zuzuschreiben und sollte einen Tritt in den Allerwertesten bekommen. Der andere Grund, warum ich so mit allen hinterher hinke ist, dass ich eine neue grosse Liebe habe:
Isn't he a beauty? My wonderful cross-trainer which I got in the {argos} boxing day sale at half-price. I set up the computer pragramme today and when I started working out I noticed just HOW freakin' unfit I am. I didn't even last two minutes *faints*. Programme 1 is the easiest and I think it takes a low impact workout of 10 minutes. Buy the end of January I want to have tackled this one right through the end without having my heart jumping out of my chest.
Ist der nicht wunderschoen? Mein wundervoller Cross-Trainer, denn ich zum halben Preis im {argos} Weihnachtsverkauf ergattert habe. Ich hatte heute das Computer-Programm aufgesetzt und als ich mit dem Training anfing stelle ich fest WIE verdammt unfit ich bin, denn ich habe nicht einmal zwei Minuten geschafft *ohnmaechtigwerd*. Programm 1 ist das einfachste und ich glaube es laeuft fuer 10 Minuten auf dem niedrigsten Impakt. Ende Januar will ich das in einem durch geschafft haben, ohne dass mein Herz aus der Brust springt.

TITLE: Cuttlebug Challenge #12

I am totally enjoying my last day off before I have to go back to work. To tell you the truth the last couple of days I was BORED out of my head and I can honestly sa
y that I look forward getting back to work...but being bored didn't stop me from playing along with a few challenges and one of my faves is definitely the {cuttlebug challenge blog}. It makes me use my bug and I loved the most recent challenge, which is to sand the embossed im
age. I had a hard time embossing my cardstock, as I didn't think (that sounds like me alright) and used one without a white core - d'uh. So I had to use quite some force to get the embossed image a little lighter. I suppose in the end it worked out alright and I am happy with the result.
Ich geniesse den letzten Tag meines Urlaubs bevor ich wieder arbeiten muss. Wenn ich ehrlich bin, ueber die letzten Tage war ich total gelangweilt und ich kann wirklich sagen, dass ich mich freue wieder zur Arbeit zu gehen....obwohl gelangweilt, nutzte ich trotzdem die Zeit bei einigen challenges mitzumachen und eine meiner Favoriten ist die {cuttlebug challenge}. Durch dieses Blog nutze ich wirklich meinen bug und ich finde die aktuelle Challenge
besonders toll - die embosste Flaeche wird mit Schmirgelpapier bearbeitet. Ich habe mir natuerlich das Leben selbst schwer gemacht und nicht genug darueber nachgedacht (typisch ich!) und natuerlich Karton benutzt der keinen weissen Kern hat. Deshalb hat es mich einen ganz schoenen Aufwand gekostet die embosste Flaeche heller zu bekommen. Aber am Ende hats geklappt und ich bin mit der Karte zufrieden.
So, I do have a challenge blog which will ensure I use my bug, and then there is the one for using my {cricut}, the {bitten by the bug} blog. Does anyone know of a challenge blog for the {bind-it-all}? I just want to make sure that I really use all my tools this year and not let them gather dust, as they usually do.
Ok, ich folge also dem Challenge Blog welches mich meinen bug auch wirklich nutzen laesst und dann ist da noch das Blog fuer den {cricut}, namentlich {bitten by the bug}. Weiss jemand von Euch ob es einen Blog fuer {bind-it-all} Projekte gibt? Ich will nur sichergehen, dass ich genug Stimuli habe alle meine Werkzeuge dieses Jahr zu benuzten und sie nicht wie ueblich verstauben zu lassen.Last but by no means least, I have been given this lovely award by the ever so amazing {vicki chrisman}. Zu guter letzt habe ich dann auch noch einen Award bekommen, von der einmaligen {vicki chrisman}. Vicki ist eine der nettesten Personen die ich jemals im Netz "kennengelernt" habe - vielen Dank Vicki, dass Du an mich gedacht hast.
In this year I will be looking at passing awards on in a different way, as most of the time these things stress me out to no end, feeling I have find a number of blogs now myself to pass it on. And in all honesty most of the time I end up just nominating my friends all over again...So this year I will only list one blog which at the moment in time is my favourite to look at. That way I don't stress and it will ensure I just don't pass the award to the same peeps over and over :)
So today, I would like to share {2 sketches for you} - even though I haven't yet played along I never fail to look at the challenges brought by two very talented ladies. If you need a kick up your booty toi get those cards going, then 2s4u is THE blog for you!
Dieses Jahr werde ich die Weiterverteilung der Awards anders handhaben. Wenn ich ehrlich bin, jedesmal wenn ich einen Award bekommen habe stresste ich mich total damit ab, nun Blogs zu finden an die ich diesen Award weiterleiten konnte. Letztendlich habe ich die Awards dann doch immer wieder an die selben Personen gegeben...ich fuehlte mich undankbar sofern ich die Awards nicht weitergeben wuerde. Dieses Jahr werde ich nur ein Blog listen, welches mir zu dem Zeitpunkt an dem ich den Award erhalte, am besten gefaellt. Dann stresse ich wenigsten nicht und es kann dann auch nicht passieren, dass cih immer wieder die selben Leute aussuche :)
Heute moechte ich Euch gerne {2 skteches for you} vorstellen - obwohl ich selbts noch an keiner der Challenges teilgenommen habe, schaue ich mir dieses mit Regelmaessigkeit an. Diese Challenges werden von zwei super talentierten Damen gestellt und wenn Ihr einen Tritt in den Allerwertesten barucht um ein paar Karten zu produzieren, dann ist 2s4u genau richtig fuer Euch

TITLE: Upsy Daisy DT Work - January 2009

Yes, of course I have spent the first day of the year scrapping - surely you didn't expect me to do anything else, right??
I have to say again just how stinkin' happy I am to be on the {upsy daisy} Design Team because the papers totally rock! You probably think, 'well Kim, you'd HAVE to say that being on their team' and you wouldn't be far wrong BUT as a rule I would never apply to become part of a Manufacturers DT if I wouldn't like their stuff in the first place. That said - {upsy daisy} have surprised me a lot, their new lines are their best ever and I just could not wait a minute longer to get my assignments done for this month.
Aber natuerlich habe ich den ersten Tag des Jahres damit verbracht zu scrappen - Ihr habt doch sicherlich nichts anderes erwartet, oder??
Ich muss nochmal sagen, wie verdeammt gluecklich ich bin im {upsy daisy} Design Team zu sein, denn die Papiere rocken total! Ihr denkt warscheinlich 'Na Kim, das MUSST du doch sagen, weil Du im Team bist' und so ganz unrecht habt Ihr mit dem Gedanken nicht - ABER als Regel gilt fuer mich, dass ich mich nie bei einem Hersteller bewerben wuerde dessen Sachen ich nicht mag. Davon mal abgesehen, {upsy daisy} haben mich sehr ueberrascht, die neuen Serien sind die besten bisher und ich konnte einfach nicht laenger warten meine Monats-Beitrag fertigzustellen.

For January we were asked to create one project based on the theme of Love and as there is no greater love then the one of a girl for her Daddy, I just had to scrap these pictures of my Dad and I. Even though they were taken 12 years ago on my Mom's 60th birthday, it still only feels like yesterday that we had this fun bash for her.
The second layout was a free interpretation and as I scrapped my Word of the Year last year, I felt it only fitting to do the same for my 2009 word - Positivity. Noticed the swirls that keep coming up in my layouts recently? They are blatant copies from the {prima} swirls which I pierce onto my background papers first and then go over each little hole with a three-dimensional paint that fits with the colour scheme of my layout.

Fuer Januar wurden wir gebeten ein Projekt zu kreieren welches um des Thema Liebe kreist. Da es keine groessere Liebe gibt als die zwischen Tochter und Vater, musste ich einfach diese Fotos von meinem Paps uns mir scrappen. Obwohl die Bilder vor zwoelf Jahren an dem 60. Geburtstag meiner Mutti aufgenommen wurden, kommt es mir wie gestern vor dass wir diese Riesenparty fuer sie hielten.
Mein zweites Layout war freie Wahl und da ich im letzten Jahr ja auch mein Wort des Jahres scrappte fand ich es passend dieses auch fuer 2009 zu tun - Positivitaet. Sind Euch die Swirls aufgefallen die ich in letzter Zeit in vielen meiner Layouts anbringe? Das sind eklatante Kopien der {prima} Swirls, dessen Muster ich in das Papier pierce und dann die kleinen Loecher mit drei-dimensionaler Farbe uebertupfe.

TITLE: Welcome 2009!!!!

Is it me or did the last year FLY by? Seriously, I remember taking pictures end of last year to start a weight loss journal (hardy har...that went really well - NOT), and all of a sudden there is January 2009. Hu? How did that happen?? I never go a chance to lose any weight, that's how quick it all went - so inevitably I put some more on...but hey, I was cool with that.
Denke nur ich so, oder ist das letzte Jahr nur so an uns vorbeigeflogen? Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern Ende letzten Jahres Fotos von mir gemacht zu haben um mein Gewichtsverlust Tagebuch zu starten (superlustig....das hat ja so richtig geklappt - NICHT), und auf einmal haben wir Januar 2009. Wie jetzt? Wie ist das passiert?? Ich hatte nie eine Chance so richtig was an Gewicht zu verlieren, so schnell ging das Jahr vorbei - deshalb habe ich wohl an Gewicht zugenommen...aber hey, das war schon ok so.
So, what's 2009 got in store for me/us? Not quite sure but I can't wait to find out!
So, was haelt 2009 in Petto fuer uns? Keine Ahnung, aber ich kann nicht erwarten es herauszufinden!
