Gutter Girlz - Prompt #33 and SYC DT Call

I am still struggling quite a bit at the moment to get my creative juices flowing...but somehow the most recent prompt at the GUTTER GIRLZ challenge blog, got me going (at least a little bit).

The requirements for this months challenge are:

THE PROMPT: Kiss My ASS
THE SONG: Bad Reputation by Joan Jett
PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE: Chain

I knew straight away which picture I wanted to scrap for this challenge, as it fit the lyrics so well:

"I don’t give a damn ‘bout my bad reputation
You’re living in the past it’s a new generation
A girl can do what she wants to do and that’s
What I’m gonna do
And’ I don’t give a damn’ bout my bad reputation"

Ok, so I didn't really have a bad reputation as such but my family was not best pleased to see me running around like a Punk. This picture was actually taken when I started to calm down a bit and grew out my Mohican. These days we would laugh at a harmless image like that, but in my little town and working at a bank (yup...you read that right) my image was totally out there and caused quite a stir. At one stage, I was approached by an older dude at the bus stop who said: "people like you disgust me. You should be gassed"...I was too stunned at that time to be upset, so I just smiled at him and wished him "a wonderful day ahead"

Anyways - still to this date, I don't give a flying fart about what people think of the way I present myself. As long as I am happy and comfortable, that's all that matters.

  6. I've just seen this (catching up on my blogs)

I can relate to your charming comment about being gassed - when I was 20 and had just had Ethan (you remember Ethan lol), I was proudly pushing him around town in his pram, and I had a blue and purple mohawk at the time.

Two old ladies marched over to me and one of them said, almost spitting, "it's disgusting that they let people like YOU have children, when there are decent couples who can't have them, you should give that baby up to be adopted by a REAL mother!"

I was so shocked I burst into tears! not that they cared.

attitudes are a little calmer nowadays to people who, shock horror, choose to have an unusual hair cut. thank goodness.

Fab layout btw! wish I still had photos of my own wilder days :)
