Rock'n'Scrap

This weekend didn't quite go to plan...we were hoping to go to our annual {{ Real Ale Festival }} as we have done for the last two years but the weather was just too bad.
In all honesty - I was kinda glad, so I could spend {inter}National Scrapbook day at home and do just that: Scrap! And my, I sure did.

Three layouts and one card later and I am still nowhere near done - and as tomorrow is a bank holiday in the UK, I have even more scrap time...YAY, me:)

Ingredients:
Papers: Teresa Collins, My Minds Eye
Background: Self Adhesive Drawer Lining
Stickers: Jenni Bowlin; Making Memories; American Crafts; Bella Blvd
Other: Pearls - Kaisercraft, Papercellar; Bling - Kaisercraft; Uniball Signo Pen; Decorative Tape - Pretty Tape, Amazon
Tools: Fiskars Border Punch

The next layout took a weird turn, as it was supposed to be for the recent {{ Gutter Girlz # 36 }} challenge. The prompt was "It's No Secret" and the song "Everybody Knows" - so I figured scrapping a picture which has my tattoos on show would be fitting (as it is "no secret" that I am heavily inked and "everybody" in my family and most of my friends "knows"). But somehow, during the creative process neither the prompt nor the title seemed fitting by way of having it prominently displayed....so I guess you could say it was "inspired by Gutter Girlz".

Papers: My Minds Eye
Embellishments: Brads, Rub Ons - Upsy Daisy Designs; Pearls - Papercellar, KatyCards, Ranger; Stickers - Making Memories; Chipboard Alpha - Heidi Swapp
Other: Embroidery Floss; Uniball Signo Pens

The next layout was created for the recent {{ Noel Mignon Challenge }} and I have been itching to get this done as I love the story of my name. You see, my Mom hated it when people would shorten her name from Birgit to Biggy. So she figured, if she named me Kim, no one would find the need to shorten it, ending on a "y". Uhm, that so did not work out as pretty much from the start my school friends would call my Kimmy - so I faced the dreaded "y" AND in addition had my name lengthened....the irony was not lost on my Mom and when my brother was born she was so sure no one would be able to "murder" his name: Kai....well believe it or not, his first two nicknames were "Kaischie" and "Kaile". Oh, and my Mom named me after actress {{ Kim Novak }}

Fun tip: the background was created by dropping some alcohol inks onto the cardstock, followed by some Cosmic Shimmer spray.

Ingredients:
Papers: Collage Press; My Minds Eye
Embellishments: Stickers - My Minds Eye, Dymo; Chipboard letters - Heidi Swapp; Pearls - Papercellar; Bling - Kaisercraft; Embroidery Floss
Other: Alcohol Inks; Cosmic Shimmer, Zig Millenium Pen; Uniball Signo Pen

Last but by no means least - here is my entry for the latest {{ Allsorts Challenge }}. You had to use something "Animal" on your project and as I had the idea for this card for quite some time now, I finally got the kick in the backside to do it. The {{ Sheepy }} is another digi-stamp from {{ Some Odd Girl}}.

  3. awesome work! found your blog via gutter girlz and very glad i did- will be checking back awesome - i mean often! ha.

anyways, there are quite a few gutter girlz layouts i've done over the year that end up having none of the prompt in them, but part of them - just like yours. Words and music leads you to places you didn't know you were going to go to when you started. So, i agree with Rachel - totally counts!
