Last month, Mr P and I were tickled pink to find out that the annual Isle of Wight Cinema Under The Stars would be kicking of with Jaws...
This is without question Mr P's most favourite Movie of all time and I am quite partial to it too. As I have never seen it at the cinema, never mind an open air one - I was all over this like a rash.
We started the day with a walk to/through Parkhurst Forest, ending up in one of our favourite pubs in Newport, the Castle Inn.
The pub is supposed to be haunted but so far the only spirits we encountered came in liquid form, like this one:
Soon after, we made our way to Robin Hill, where we were greeted by this cool movie poster
Naturally we needed to get our ugly mugs into the shot...it would be rude not to, right?
In we went and I was immediately smitten by this wicked creature, if only all street lamps would be adorned but something similar - how cool would that be?
When we finally made our way to the site with the screen we were quite surprised to see hundreds of people already there, over an hour before the show was about to start.
There was live music and everyone was in a fabulous mood...and then the real fun began
Can't wait to see what will be on the screen next year - I definitely want to go again!
Oooh sounds like fun, I love the street lamp!! :)
ReplyDeletei've seen jaws approximately 427 times but never out in the open...sounds like an amazing night of fun! i'm totally digging that streetlamp too, wow!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely fantastic day you guys had! SO, SO much fun! We have an outdoor theater in our area, and they show spooky films at night during Halloween time. I went and saw Night of the Living Dead a couple of years ago. Too much fun! Now I want to go back again. :)
ReplyDeleteDie Figur ist der Oberhammer!!! Die hätt ich gern im Garten!
