It's a good thing that the Summer in the UK this year is nothing but ridiculous....wind and rain has been our daily dose for months now.
So, why do I like this? Because it makes me want to continue to knit - that's why!
Generally, when it's hot outside, I cannot bear to have anything resting on my knees that adds to the warmth. Therefore, in the summertime I generally don't knit or crochet that much.
Not so this time however - I am knitting up a storm!!!
No sooner was I finished with my last project, the {Tadpole socks} that I dug into my box'o'stash and cast on the {Off the Shoulder Jumper} from Vogue Knitting. I really love their patterns which are so easy to follow and as of yet have not let me down.
It's also great that I found a pattern for which I was happy to use my most expensive yarn to date - {Rowan Cashsoft}. I bought it in March with vouchers and cash I got from friends and family but I was very reluctant to use it until now. Mainly because I know my history of frogging and I just wanted to be sure I am not unravelling this yarn over and over again.
The ribbing for the jumper looks TINY but it stretches like crazy, so it should fit me. Just in case I cast on for size "L" rather than "M". Should it be a little too loose, I can always tie a belt around it :)

Very pretty, I can't wait to see it grow. I love the colour and I agree with you about the perfect project for yarn that you have spent more than normal on
ReplyDeleteLooking pretty! I'm like that too, I don't really like knitting in the warm weather as my fingers swell up and I get all clumsy :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that colour! I checked out the pattern and it looks like it will be beautiful :D
ReplyDeleteThe color is perfect. I can't wait to see it when its finished XD
ReplyDeleteReally love the colour of your yarn and I am so sure that I will say wow again when you show us the end result.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I love that pattern, but have somehow never seen it before now. I really like how it is constructed. This is definitely a project that I will enjoy watching! Also, you will love Cashsoft, it is a dream to work with like most Rowan yarns.
ReplyDeleteCool sweater pattern - almost looks '80s! Ribbing does stretch a ton, so don't worry. Besides if you're like me, everything always turns out too big because I'm constantly erring on the side of caution :(
ReplyDeleteThe colours gorgeous. I can't wait to see the end result. Ali x
ReplyDeleteThe yarn is gorgeous! I'm glad you're finding some benefit from our summer :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when a favorite yarn turns into a great piece!
ReplyDeleteI like the pattern very much, and your colour is one of my faves!
ReplyDeleteLovely yarn, I am sure that is going to be a wonderful jumper. Yeah, this weather.......bleh. At least today it is warm(er) than it has been :)
ReplyDeleteOh, love this sweater! Very trendy and stylish. That color is to die for! I wish that it was a little cooler here in Maryland because my knitting pace is as slow as a turtle's.
ReplyDeleteWow, so loving the look of your sweater so far!
