Uhm.... against my better judgement I pulled {my jinxed yarn} out of the box and started another project.
{The Lace Back Hoodie} from {Designer/Vogue Knitting} was one of my favourites from the Spring/Summer 2012 issue and I have been oooooohing and aaaaaaahing over which yarn I should use for it.
Don'tcha love that lace detail? |
Instead of spending more money on yarn to use on a project which will most probably be frogged again, I decided to give the green monster another try - let's see who wins this time.
So far, the back, the left front panel and more than two thirds of the right front panel are done. That leaves only the sleeves and hood.
I noticed when I blocked the back that I made a mistake with the pattern and I have no idea how it happened. As I forgot to include a "{lifeline}" (which one should always take the time to do when working on a lace pattern), I left the mistake and in all honestly, it doesn't even bother me.
Lacing upwards rather than down..oh well |
So far, I am feeling confident but I am not counting my chickens just yet.

That is looking lovely. It seems like an interesting design. I may add it to my mental queue as I have that magazine and somehow overlooked it!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the cursed yarn! I've got my fingers crossed for you, Kim! Looks absolutely beautiful so far! Love the lace pattern.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for giving it another try! This time I'll bet it will work out perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt looks goreous so far and that lace pattern is amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are totally winning so far. That yarn has no chance! Beautiful lace and color.
ReplyDeleteI think it's gorgeous! I can't even find the mistake to be honest :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks fabulous! I am partial to that lace stitch pattern and am using it as one of the patterns in a new scarf design. It looks lovely all on its own, too! Good luck with the rest of the project!
ReplyDeleteLovely pattern! I think the green if fabulous, I hope you are pleased with it. I'm told (by loads of people) that mistakes are important, it proves it is hand made, so I try not to let them bother me. Can't wait to see it done!
ReplyDeleteWow. That pattern is gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Kim! The pattern and the colour green are beautiful!
