You know what - I never even realised that I totally always forgot to link to my assignments for the previous months/year for {{ Scrap You Crap }}...how the heck did that happen???!??
Probably because we sometimes scheduled the posts on the blog up to six months in advance and I forget to just copy and paste it onto my personal blog after...what a dork.
Anyhoo - this month I am so not forgetting because I have been IT-CHING to showcase this layout. Now, don't get too excited because it ain't that special but this particular layout made me decide to scrap in 8.5 x 6 almost exclusively.
I had bought this roll of self-adhesive drawer lining in light and dark brown woodgrain and wanted to use it so badly for a layout. To give the lining some substance, I adhered it to an old piece of cardstock.
The challenge at SYC for may is to get rid of those A-Z stickers that all of us have stacked away by the truckload somewhere...and I just happened to have a few letters from a {{ My Minds Eye }} alpha sheet left over (hence the alphabet background missing a few letters..but seeing it was my first day at school, I wouldn't know how to use all those letters anyway...tee hee)

I think you should join us over {{ here }} this month because we have a pretty Odd sponsor to supply the winner with some lush stuff :)
I am still struggling quite a bit at the moment to get my creative juices flowing...but somehow the most recent prompt at the GUTTER GIRLZ challenge blog, got me going (at least a little bit).
The requirements for this months challenge are:
THE PROMPT: Kiss My ASS THE SONG: Bad Reputation by Joan Jett PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE: Chain
I knew straight away which picture I wanted to scrap for this challenge, as it fit the lyrics so well:
"I don’t give a damn ‘bout my bad reputation You’re living in the past it’s a new generation A girl can do what she wants to do and that’s What I’m gonna do And’ I don’t give a damn’ bout my bad reputation"
Ok, so I didn't really have a bad reputation as such but my family was not best pleased to see me running around like a Punk. This picture was actually taken when I started to calm down a bit and grew out my Mohican. These days we would laugh at a harmless image like that, but in my little town and working at a bank (yup...you read that right) my image was totally out there and caused quite a stir. At one stage, I was approached by an older dude at the bus stop who said: "people like you disgust me. You should be gassed"...I was too stunned at that time to be upset, so I just smiled at him and wished him "a wonderful day ahead"
Anyways - still to this date, I don't give a flying fart about what people think of the way I present myself. As long as I am happy and comfortable, that's all that matters.
Did you know that SCRAP YOUR CRAP have a Design Team call going on right now? Well, I think you should go check it out and submit. This is such a fun and easy gig - one project per month and you can work weeks ahead. Come join the fun!
