Happy Halloween

Halloween [older spelling: Hallowe'en]:
Shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the evening before “All Hallows’ Day” (also known as “All Saints’ Day”)
******************************************

Aren't you glad you asked?
Now that we got all the boo-ya stuff out of the way, let's carry on with some craftyness:))

Last week I managed to complete two more layouts with my {{October Kit}}, which brings my total to six layouts. I struggled a little with this Kit as orange is not really my favoured colour when it comes to crafting - so I was glad that one of the Prima papers had a pink pattern on the back *phew*.

**click on any of the images to enlarge the view**
Ingredients:
Papers: Prima Marketing ** Stickers: Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin ** Tag: Rusty Pickle ** Button: My Little Bit Of Whimsey ** Other: Embroidery Floss; Flatbacked Pearls; Vintage Bookpage
Ingredients:

Papers: Sassafras Lass; Rose Mokka; Graphic 45 ** Stickers: Making Memories, Sassafras Lass ** Button: Cosmo Cricket ** Rub Ons: Kaisercraft ** Other: Masking Tape; Flatbacked Pearls; Alpha Beads; Punchinella: Uniball Signo Pens

So - that is my October Kit done with and I am already excited to get cracking on my November Kit...blue hues that suit me much more than orange.

Before I go, I have also created a card for the recent {{Card Patterns}} sketch - using an image from the upcoming November release of {{Some Odd Girl}}
I  love the Elf...she has some sort of a Bavarian feel about her, no?

Ingredients:
Cardstock: Papermill ** Papers: Upsy Daisy Designs ** Digital Stamp: Some Odd Girl ** Rubber Stamp: Stampin' Up ** Pens: ProMarkers; Uniball Signo; Asda Glitter Pens ** Other: Cosmic Shimmer; Embroidery Floss; Masking Tape; Flatbacked Pearls.

I was really glad that I still had my glitter gel pens from Asda, as they enabled me to just trace the outlines of parts of the image, which I wanted to highlight.

Not too bad, hu? I can see a few more glitterfied cards coming on soon :)

Have a spooctacular day

Whimsey winnings ;)

You know that I have found a new love, right? The fabulous buttons and pins from {{ My Little Bit Of Whimsey }} - and just recently, owner Stephanie had a lil' giveaway on her blog - and I won...YAY me.

{{ This }} selection of lushness is sitting pretty on my desk, waiting to become part of my cards and layouts *swoon*

You should go have a gander around her shop, because the buttons are just so divine! And the pins....don't start me on the pins - especially {{ this one }}

Cricut Sale

** click on any of the images to enlarge **

As much as I loved my Cricut - I have to admit I am no longer making use of it. So I have decided to put the whole lot cutter, carts and accessories up for sale.

The Cricut is in perfect working order and whilst I no longer have the original box, it will be packed securely for transport via Parcel Post. Please note that I have used the Cricut for a a couple of years so there is some wear and tear on the outside as seen below

Together with the bug you will receive 4 (four) cutting mats - two have been used a lot but are still really stick and good enough to use with thinner papers and cardstock (is you use some removable spray adhesive on it it will last you for years to come). One of the mats has never been used at all and one was only used a few times on cardstock.

You will also receive the following carts with the Cricut:
[*]George Basic Shapes (boxed with booklet)
[*]Going Places (boxed with booklet)
[*]Storybook (boxed with booklet)
[*]Celebrations (boxed with booklet)
[*]Stretch Your Imagination (boxed with booklet)
[*]Home Accents (this was a solution cartridge and came without box and without booklet, but is securely packed within the George box)

Here are a few close ups of the inside of the Cricut to show you I have taken very good care of it

Now the boring bit - payment terms :)

For the whole lot, including insured/recorded postage (mainland UK) I am asking £225.00 (that is a saving of at least £165.00 if bought individually).
I can only accept personal cheques and the package will be mailed only after the cheque has cleared into my account (generally this takes three to five working days). I cannot accept Paypal payments or postal orders.

Once the payment has cleared and the package is handed over to the post office, I will email you a copy of the proof of postage and tracking number for your peace of mind.

Boo to you

I had quite a creative weekend (despite a migraine tentatively knocking, but I killed her off with some monster pain killers) - got all my UDD DT assignments for November AND December done and the jumper for Mr P is as good as finished.

But that wasn't all - I even managed to get some more cards done, just for fun. Of course at this time of year there will still be the odd Halloween card showing up. Considering that we don't celebrate it, I am amazed at myself that I continue to do some more cards :).

Making use of {{ Bat Toby }} of the latest {{ Some Odd Girl }} image release and some paper scraps from {{ Upsy Daisy Designs }}, I am pretty pleased how this card turned out (even though I am not all too keen on how I coloured the hair)

Funky Fingers

Thanks to {{ Avon }} and {{ this }} wonderful nail-strengthener, my nails are growing like crazy these days and even when I break one or two of them, they grow back so fast you can almost watch it...

And whenever my nails are long enough, I always like to play around with colour and some different kind of designs. While I love the French manicure look, I hate that almost everyone wears it on their nails. So I went for a Kimmy manicure look :)

These fat funky fingers have been busy lately and focussed more on this, rather than scrap

It is the woolly jumper I started for Mr P a year ago and never could be arsed to finished, but somehow my knitting gene has been revived and the jumper is now in its finishing stages. Now, what to knit next, is the question...

SOG - Style Challenge #8 - Colours

This weeks challenge over at the Some Odd Girl {{ Challenge Blog }} throws a fun colour combo into the ring. Join us over there to get your hands on some Freebies should you entry be the winner.

I fancied a change and decided to go for a tag this time, which I am planning to attach to a bag of candies and give away to someone in our office. Not sure who yet, but I still have a few days to decide, right?
Using the {{ Witchy Kitty }} image, I fancied giving her the cutesy factor, with flowers and bling - whaddaya think, did it work?

Don't forget that you still have a couple of days left to download Octobers {{ Freebie }}. It may never be available again, so don't wait too long

Fun at the Nook

The last week I have had so much fun getting back into the swing over at {{ the Nook }}. For some reason, I never stuck around when I first registered there in 2007, but thanks to the wonderfully wickedly funny {{ Zarah }}, I found my way back there. I think I found an online home again after the loss of Scrapmuse earlier this year.

What is even sweeter is that lots of my old online buddies from all across the globe are hanging out over there too, which makes it even sweeter. So, I got suckered in, loving it and intending to stick around for a loooooong time to come :)

First things first, I just had to take part in Dani's {{ Card Colour Challenge }} for October. Those of you who don't know {{ Dani }}, let me tell you, you have missed out BIG time. She is my card-queen because no one makes cards like her. She is a card-making machine but every single one of her creations is awesome and inspires you to get crafty.

I thought that the colour combo for the challenge would work well with one of the new {{ Some Odd Girl }} releases, my fave of the lot the {{ Pumpkins }}. I tried to re-create the colours for the challenge with my ProMarkers and I think I haven't done too bad.

** click onto any of the images if you wish to see them larger **
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Bazzill ** Papers - SEI ** Digi Stamp - Some Odd Girl ** Sentiment - Creator's own ** Other - ProMarkers, Embroidery Floss, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Ink

I also managed to get another layout done with my {{ October Kit }}, which brings the total to four layouts so far. But again, I am totally not done - I's day there are at least another four layouts in this Kit.
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Bazzill ** Papers - Scenic Route, 3ndypapir ** Stickers - Sassafras Lass, Dymo ** Other - Cosmic Shimmer, Pearls, Rhinestones, Uniball Signo Pens, Embroidery Floss, Punchinella, Vinatage book page

Speaking of Kits, even though I am officially on a "do-not-sub-to-a-kit-until-you-used-your-stash" freeze, as soon as I have managed to scrap a significant dent into my old stash I am so going to be all over {{ the Nook Kits }}. They are gorgeous and if I wouldn't have such willpower, I would have gotten this baby already:

Watcha think, yummy or what? I am not joking, but I look onto the Kit section every freakin' day thinking "shall I?"...I think right now I even want it more than {{ Vivian Campbell }} and that is saying a lot for the Kit, because lookey:

Did you know....

....that I have added stamps and other stuff to my {{ online shop }} at really SILLY sale prices?
No???

Well, then you better have a look {{ here }} and {{ here }} and {{ here }} to snap up some great bargains. Some of the stamps are one-off's so if you are thinking of getting some -> be q.u.i.c.k.

Yup, you will find vintage style yummyness like this in the shop:

Upsy Daisy Designs - DT October PT II

No, we don't celebrate Halloween in our house at all. Ever.
Not because we don't like it but what is the point? No kidlets, no strangers trick or treating...so we don't bother.

BUT that doesn't mean that I don't love this particular Holiday (not that it is really all THAT big here in the UK, but that's an entirely different story)

For this month, the Upsy Daisy DT was asked to create something Halloween-y using not necessarily products that would be themed. That is one thing I LOVE so much about {{ Upsy Daisy Designs }}, that they just do not do themes....there may be some paper line which can be used for specific holidays but you would not ever find anything that has schtuff like "Happy Halloween" or "Happy 4th July" printed all over the paper.
Why do I love it? Because it means that these papers can be used world-wide for any occasion...but I digress.

Back to Halloween and the "not-so-ween" papers :))). I knew straight away that I would make good use of the {{ Circle of Friends }} line, which to this date is my all time favourite paper line from UDD. The papers make me happy, they are bright and shabby chic at the same time and whenever I have to cut into one of them , I bleed and cry at the same time....because I know that this may be the last time ever that I will fondle them. But for this month I just had to part with some bits of this line because the oranges and pinks pretty much SCREAM Halloween at me

Not only did I want to create a few cards, but also a neat folder in which to present them, so I googled for some fun templates and found {{ Mirkwood Designs }}, who offered one awesome and super-easy card folder. Whatddaya think - mission accomplished?

Yum....

...yum indeed - the weather today so far has been amazing. Thankfully I had a day off work and we just went a for walk about an hour ago and it was BOILING out there. Most peeps were running around in skimpy T-shirts and shorts - weirdness, but still yummy.

AND after ten years of living on the Isle of Wight, which is home to the {{ Red Squirrel }}, I actually saw my first one (yup, as in the first one in ten friggin' years) today.
This, by the way, is the my signature stance when I am walking in the woods - look up into the trees to hope to see one of those ginger critters

** click on any of the pictures if you want to view them enlarged **

It seemed as per usual, that I would be unlucky - if Mr P goes out walking, he a squirrels following him by the truckload. I go out and they hide...furry buggers. All of a sudden, there was movement in the trees and one of the lil blighters showed itself to me.

Whaddaya mean, you can't see it...it's there >>>> on the right hand side of the tree trunk:

I thought it was so funny that the squirrel kept looking at us - it kept hiding behind the trunk, but sticking its head around once in a while to check if we were still there. Naturally I had to celebrate my first Reddie in a very adult fashion, but swinging off a tree...surely everyone does that, no?

Okay, maybe it is just me who does that then...oh well - not the first time I made myself look totally stupid. I bet that gave the squirrels a right old belly laugh and next time they are gonna take pictures of me :))

But I digress, actually I wanted to show some layouts I already created with {{ my October Kit }}. Who would have thought that I embrace the colour orange so much? Not everyone knows but orange is the one colour that has me running scared when I have to use it...not that you could tell here.

Last but by no means least, here is a very differently shaped card. I printed the enlarged image of  {{ Cold Kaylee }} onto plain white card stock, folded it over and cut along her outlines. This card is a whooping 8" tall and was quite a challenge to colour. I have to admit that I am not too happy with the colouring of the eyes - somehow I messed that one up, but the rest - I really like!
Entered into the following challenges:
Allsorts #73 - Take inspiration from a song - "Baby It's Cold Outside"
Crazy 4 Challenges #58 - Birthday
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #71 - Shaped card
Fab'n'Funky #43 - Digi Image
Penny's Paper Crafty #39 - Circles - well, the bling and buttons on her coat are deffo circles :)

SOG - Stash Challenge #8 - Fabric

I hope you will join us all over at the SOG {{ Challenge Blog }} where we have one wicked challenge for you this week.

This is the card I created for the challenge using the not-so-Wicked Witch of the West, i.e. {{ Witchy Tia }}. I adore the new October Releases, even though we don't do Halloween, I ADORE the images *sigh*

** click on the images to enlarge their view **

.Play with us and win yourself some Wicked-Spooktacular stamps. Oh and don't forget to check out the {{ Freebie }}
The farbic flower was actually created from some left over tissue paper, which I used to dry of blotches of Cosmic Shimmer. I loved the random pattern on it and found it too pretty to throw away.

And then there is this tag which I created for the recent {{ 2 sketches 4 You }}  challenge. Can you tell I am totally in a Halloween mood??
This little fella is actually the FREEbie I was talking about above - not only do you get the image but also the sentiment....what a fab deal!
