Scrap Your Crap - June 2010

I really enjoyed this months challenge over at {{ Scrap Your Crap }}, to get those inks and paints out a start getting messy with it...

My layout was created using once again the amazing papers from {{ 3ndypapir }} - I *heart* them.

SOG - Challenge #5 - Triple the Fun

For our fifth challenge, {{ Leah }} prompted us to mix things up a bit and use at least three different patterned papers, which had to be from different manufacturers as well. Now this I can do with pleasure :) Mixing and matching paper lines is something I enjoy a lot, so I finished this challenge within a jiffy.

I love the {{ Rocket }} image from the latest release...so I had oodles of fun playing :)

Is it 18 January 2011 yet ?!???

Oh my...I have been in an excited stupor since yesterday evening - when I found out that my future husband *sigh* is coming to Southampton to play with {{ Thin Lizzy }}...
** photo by Ash Newell **
Yup, the dude with the hottest pair of moobs in the biz (some men this man makes the male chest very desirable), is gonna be in town - 7 years after I have last seen him, play with Def Leppard in Portsmouth. I really cannot wait to feast my eyes on Mr {{ Vivian Campbell }}. It also helps that {{ Ricky Warwick }} is joining the project on vocals...he is one wickedly cool dude as well. I am so gonna be counting down the days already...he he. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and I think I may become hysterical by the time the order lines open

In all that excitement, I still managed to channel my overflowing energy into creating a quick card for the most recent {{ ICS Challenge #66 }}.
I have been wanting to play along for like ages, but missed the deadline every darn time...but not so this time. Like I said, channeling all my Viv-energy I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to the left and came up with this card, using the {{ Mushes Set }} from {{ Some Odd Girl}} and the divine papers from {{ 3ndypapir }}

Caardvarks and a poopy surprise

Let me get the crappy stuff (pun intended) out of the way first - yesterday morning we woke up to a nice surprise on our balcony: a pile of dog poop...which had us stumped. You see, we are up on the first floor and do not own a dog, so unless this doggy had wings there is no explanation how the poop got there. And no, it certainly is not bird poop, rat poop or any other creature that could climb up to a balcony because trust me: if any rat/bird is able to produce what was greeting us...well then we all should be really worried about the size of that animal.

But enough of that, let's move on to more fun things :)

I haven't been playing with Caardvarks for a while but the {{ May Sketch Challenge }} was too much fun to resist...you know me, can't say no to a good sketch and Caarvarks crew member Heidi van Laar provided two stunning sketches, from which I chose this one
And here is my card following the sketch, using the {{ Dino }} digi stamp from {{ Some Odd Girl }}. I have been wanting to use the sentiment "From one dinosaur to another a couple of things about extinction" so the sketch and stamp combined gave me the kick up the backside I needed.

Other: Pin; Ribbon; Twine; ProMarkers; Cosmic Shimmer; Decorative tape; Uniball Signo Pen
Stamp: Some Odd Girl

But that was not all I did yesterday, oh no. You see I got a parcel from the wonderful {{ Gudrun }} who is the brains behind {{ 3ndy paper }}. I used to be a Graphic45 fan until I met Gudrun through our DT work for {{ my StampBOX }}. When I saw the papers she designed and how she used them, I was hooked. But there are no shops in the UK who carry her new lines, which is a crying shame. Thankfully Gudrun is happy to sell to the public directly and I am now the proud owner of the complete Secret Garden collection. The online pictures don't do the papers justice, they are stunning! And the vintage images are da bomb! Superb cardstock quality, made in Norway.

Even though I was knackered last night, I just had to break into some of the papers and created this layout, showing my nan and me during a winter holiday in 1968. The tiny birds you may be able to spot on the layout are cut from one of the 3ndy papers....so cute!
