I realised that I forgot to share some cards I created some months ago, using papers from Upsy Daisy Designs and I also some of my beloved Dustin Pike digi stamps *sighs*

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat

This picture of Mr P, taken during his trip to Oz in '96 pretty much screamed JAWS at me and seeing that this is his favourite movie of all times (and I like it a lot too), I simply had to make use of the iconic "outburst" of Sheriff Brody, when faced with the shark "We're gonna need a bigger boat". That line is a classic - because it really says ALL you need to now in that situation

I am not too sure about the layout though - it seems a little messy and a little unfinished to me, so I guess I may be redoing at some stage.

About a Boy....

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how this layout turned out - I think it is my favourite ever that I created using Upsy Daisy Designs.

But have a look for yourself, and see what you think.

There is actually a story behind this layout concerning its "making-of" story. Believe it or not but this layout went initially into the trash. 

Twice.

I know I wanted to create a flower from a layered, crumpled, misted set of papers cut with the scalloped circle Nestability dies. So that one came first and I hated what I did with it...so much so, that I crumpled it up even more and chucked it in the bin. Then I started to randomly stamp flourishes onto a sheet of paper and thought that the flower may actually look kind neat on top - out of the bin it came.

But for some reason, the flourishes and flower did not work with any of the photographs I had in mind or indeed with any of the ideas I had for a layout. After two hours of shuffling my papers around, I TORE the layout to pieces (including tearing the stamped images) and it went right back in the bin...flower and all.

I just thought that this was not meant to be and admitted defeat. But only one day later inspiration struck: I fished all the pieces of torn paper out of the bin, glued it all together again and started fussy cutting. That was how the above layout came together - once I cut along all the flourishes, the design of the page was just a doddle...weird, hu?

Anyway - after I added some rub ons, bling, mists and ink, I fell in love with the layout and I glad I fished it out of the bin :)

Upsy Daisy Designs - DT August PT I

For August, I challenged the Upsy Daisy DT members to make use of a quote on one (or more) of their projects. This could have been a quote from a movie, a book or wherever else they can be found.

Personally I like to visit Great Quotes, Brainy Quotes or Pinterest to get my fix of quotes to be used on cards or layouts.

But this time I simply made use of the fabulous journaling/quote papers from Upsy Daisy Designs, namely Strike a Pose

I just adored this Yves St Laurent quote

For my second DT assignment for Upsy Daisy Designs this month I decided that I could do with a set of cards - we all need cards at some stage, right?

Upsy Daisy Designs - DT July PT I

For this month, I challenged the Upsy Daisy Design Team to scraplift one of their fellow DT-Daisies.

We have such a great bunch of girls on the team and all our styles are so different, which makes for fantastic inspiration.

I am a big fan of fellow Daisy Janis, who creates the most wonderful pages, so it was a no-brainer for me as to whose layout to lift :).

The flowers and the stamping were my main inspiration and this is what I came up with (no patch on the original, mind but I am more than pleased with it)

Upsy Daisy Designs - DT June Pt II

In the UK we celebrate Father's Day in a few days (the 19th of June, to be exact), so my seond DT assignment this month was a no-brainer: a Father's Day card.

Many of {Upsy Daisy Designs} papers are perfect to be used for masculine projects, such as the ones from the {Home Sweet Home} line and I created this card in no time at all.

Upsy Daisy Designs - DT June Pt I

At {Upsy Daisy Designs} this month, the DT was challenged to create a project following inspiration from an advert. I ♥♥♥ working from adverts and this one totally tickled my creative tastebuds

I used both, the colour scheme and the circles as a starting point for my layout and I am mighty pleased how it turned out

See that flower? I used some bakers twine and crocheted it from scratch and secured the button with the help of a glue dot. Not bad, eh?

Twisted Sketches #99

Come and play along with us at {{Twisted Sketches}} where we have another sketch with twist (straight) for you.

For my layout I went down the really difficult route to keep all the lines straight , which was NOT easy and I also tried to keep as straight to the original sketch as possible.

I also combined my DT Challenge for {{Upsy Daisey Designs}} with the sketch. This month we took inspiration from a song/music.

Here is my take and as for the twist, I created my flower embellishments from patterned paper :)

The layout also doubles as my second project for {{Upsy Daisy Designs}} this month, where the DT were challenged to create anything with a Spring/Easter theme.
I think you cannot get more Spring feel then to have two flower clusters on your layout, right?

By the way, I created the background by placing the precut flower shapes onto the background paper and then started misting in three different colours. I then used my black Uniball Signo and doodled the outline of the flowers directly onto the background. I love the effect this gave to the overall design.

I love the month of March - no only because it is my birthday in March but also because it is the start of Spring.

Valentine's Crop

Phew, the last couple of days went by in such a flash - I can't believe it's the weekend again :)

Over the last couple of days I enjoyed playing along over at {{Noel Mignon's Valentines Crop}}. Even though I didn't manage to get everything done in the time frame, the DT came up with some awesome challenges and I for one am planning to create a few more projects over this weekend based on their inspiration.

On {{Tuesday}} I already shared one of the crop projects with you and here are now two more.

Can you feel the love already this month? I sure can and with all the fun challenges everywhere based on the theme of Valentine's day you cannot help feeling happy and giddy :)

So, I got stuck in straight away and created a wee tag, which will adorn a little gift for Mr P (he doesn't read my blog so I am safe to show you...).

I made use of the FREEbie for February from {{KennyK}} and enter the tag in the recent {{Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #31}}

Upsy Daisy Designs - February 2011 - Pt I

In light of the fact that February is pretty much classed as the month of LOVE, the 

{{Upsy Daisy Designs}} DT were asked to create any kind of projects which focussed on the colour scheme of red and pink. It did not have to be a Valentines or love based project, as long as the colours pink and/or red were dominant.

For my first layout this month, I went a little wild with the paint and bling but I really like how it turned out.

DT work and a new obsession

I can't believe that I have forgotten to share my second project for {{Upsy Daisy Designs}} this month...and to think that I already had this one completed in December! Shame on me...

This is another layout I created specifically for a call from {{Scrapbook Trends}} which asked for layouts using punches. But asa it wasn't picked up I can now share it here.

The DT focussed on the two latest lines and I chose {{Avalanche}} for this particular layout. Shame that Mr P and myself look like twats in this picture, but I guess you can't win them all...

And have I told you about my new obsession?

Crochet.

I never "got it" when I was younger and thought knitting was so much cooler, but since I have failed so badly with my last three knitting projects, I decided to try something different. Seeing I already had the yarns, why waste them. And seeing that my friend {{Trace}} did wonders with her crocheting I bought myself this book.

I started to think that I was not normal though (no funny remarks, allright?!!!??) because I could only figure the moderate to difficult patterns out easy, but the apparent easiest of the lot, the {{Granny Square}} had me in tears. No matter what and how, I could not understand it - maybe it was too simple?

Then one day it clicked, when once again I chose a more intricate design which was similar to the Granny Square and all of a sudden I understood and within the matter of one evening I produced this lot:

Since then I have done the same amount again and this evening will start to crochet them together as I should have half my blanket completed.

But all of that did not stop me from completing another one of my {{Art Tags}} 

C = Colour

Colour is an important part of my life. I love to surround myself with colourful things, our front room is painted in different hues of purple, our hallway is red, the kitchen yellow, our bathroom turquoise. And for some time now, colour has entered my craft space too

And last but by no means least - in fact, I saved the best for last....because I am really REALLY in love with this card.

The current challenge at {{Kenny K's Krafty Girlz}} is asking for "my favourite things". 

Well that was easily achieved:

Take papers and stickers from {{Sassafras Lass}}, throw in a few {{Jenni Bowlin}} alphas, combine it with Cosmic Shimmer and colour the {{Biker Chick}} from Kenny K with {{ProMarkers}} and you have an overload of my favourite crafty things.
