Woops...

...where, oh where did the last week go? I didn't even realise it has been that long since I last blogged.
Anyhoo - I am knee-deep in all sorts of things right now, but I thought I better show my face :)

Just a quickie post today to show you a card I created for the recent {{ 2 Sketches 4 You }} challenge. I used the super cute {{ Daisy Tia }} from the brand new Tinies-Release of {{ Some Odd Girl }}. I am really pleased how the colouring turned out, even if I say so myself...
(psssssst...check out that sentiment....ain't sayin' no more for now)

Oh and aren't those buttons wickedly cute? I got them from {{ My Little Bit Of Whimsey }}. I had heart palpitations when I saw all the eye candy in Stephanie's store. The pictures really do not do her buttons and pins justice. You should go and have a snoop - but be prepared to be forced putting in an order. Lushness!

Much anticipated by lots of {{ Some Odd Girl }} customers - and finally in store to purchase right now.

Even though I am not much of a people-stamp person I am totally diggin' these cuties :)

We are having our newest challenge ready for you over at the {{ SOG challenge blog }} - have a look-see what the fabulous DT created with the new release and join us for the first challenge that lil' ole me set.

Northern Splendours Pt III

You thought I'd forgotten, right?
To carry on with my pictures from my Norway voyage, right?

Wrong.

** click on any of the images if you wish to see them larger **

I had so many other bits to share that I put the piccies on the back burner, but here we are now -with the next stop at {{ Lofoten Islands }}

Famed for its wildlife, I actually had no intention to go ashore as I was tired from the previous two days and I also did not want to go on any of the (quite expensive) shore excursions.

Well, while I sat in one of the sun beds and looked around, I figured I should go - nothing to loose, right? And I would only kick myself afterwards having been at the Islands and not getting off. Because, let's face it - this is not a place you would specifically choose to be your main point of destination on a holiday.

So, I placed my behind in one of the tender boats and off I went ashore - the following picture was taken through a glass window. I am really pleased how it turned out, especially the Comoran taking off!
The water was crystal clear and to my surprise - HEAVING with jellyfish (pictures did not come out though)

Upon arrival at the Island, I found that the port information was pretty much bang on with the statement "there is nothing to do/see unless you go on a guided tour". There really was nothing there, other than one hill which you could climb on and have some sort of elevated view over the area. Some nice flowers and berries around but that was really it - oh the excitement of it all.
I took the shuttle bus into the next town and found that there was also nothing there...other than one wee shopping center and a cafe, bless.

But I was glad I went, because at least now I know I haven't missed anything and I got to see some form of wildlife. Just think that this could greet you in the waters of the Lofoten...

Da-dum
Da-dum
Da-dum-da-dum-da-dum

Any idea what fellas these pretties are? I know, but I wanna see your guesses in the comments section please.
There is a RAK in it:)

When we got back on the tender boat we had a really fantastic chauffeur/driver/captain steering-dude (heck knows what you call them when they drive tenders) who took us all the way below Queen Mary 2's bow while we were waiting for our berth to clear. The photo opportunity was just mind blowing and I think I may have even squeaked out loud in excitement at some stage...

The next stop was another one of those "do-I-really-need-to-get-off" tender ports at the {{ North Cape }}.

Watcha think - did I or didn't I?

GLEE - The Contest

Some of you may have spotted the blinkie on the right hand side of my blog, about the GLEE inspired contest that is run over at {{ Dixie Pieces }}. To be honest, I never watched GLEE and I don't intend to - it is just not my cup of thing, but I am all over the contest.

Dixie Pieces is a Monthly Kit Club and I have been looking at their Kits for quite some time, ever since my previous DT-Teamie {{ Marci Knecht }} showcased just how awesome the Kits are. When I saw the announcement for the contest I did not hesitate to throw my hat in the ring because one of the prizes is a DP Kit... and that would be so sweet to win.

Anyhoo, the first challenge went up last Friday and we were asked to create a layout based on some Beatles Songs, and it would also have to reflect the era, i. e. the Sixties. As soon as I saw the list of Beatles song to choose from, I knew which picture I wanted to scrap and here is the finished layout

** click on images to enlarge **

Cardstock: Bazzill ** Papers: Scenic Route ** Chipboard Shapes, Blossom: Fancy Pants ** Pearls: Papercellar, KatyCards ** Other: Cosmic Shimmer; Masking Tape; Journaling Pens; Lace; Pins; Buttons, Staple; Twine; Beaded ribbon ** Font: A Hard Says Night

I always snag off the ends of any pins I use on my projects, just in case...

This lace flower was not store bought but created by me

Now I cannot wait for the next challenge ahead!

Thankful & BOO to you :)

This month the {{ Upsy Dasiy }} DT were asked to create a projects that showcases what they are thankful for - something most of us reflect on during the approaching autumn days, right?

So, I created this little box to say it in the words of the best pop band of all times {{ Abba }}: Thank You For The Music. I could not get by without music, it is part of my life on a daily basis.

Hop over to the {{ Daisy Diaries }} to see more info on which papers I used and how I created this home for my iPod.

I also created the following card to enter a few challenges - it was actually inspired by Uber-ODDity {{ Kristy }} with {{ this post }}. She did whet my appetite to alter her digis and just go for the big head approach...oh and I used again papers and cardstock from my {{ September Kit }}
The image you see is from an upcoming October release at {{ Some Odd Girl }}and BOY-oh-BOY do I love thee :))))

Create Your Own Kit

Have a look at this

These are all the 12 x 12 papers I have in my possession right now (excluding my DT papers).
The other day I was surfing the net trying to find a good monthly kit club as I felt I needed to get back into the swing of scrapping layouts more. I saw many awesome kits, most of which I will never be able to afford, so I had a brain storm.

I got all my papers out and counted them.
There are a lot of them.
Too many to justify buying more.

Have a guess how many...c'mon guess

(no, REALLY -> guess..I will send a RAK of a selection of papers to the one closest to the actual number)

So I figured, why don't I take all my papers and create my own Kits from them? Also, I have equally as much card stock lying around gathering dust. Well, I got cracking and first sorted all papers by colours - geez, that was some hardship on me and I was hyperventilating that my anal-storing-by-manufacturer organisation was going up the creek.

In the end it was worth it, because I rediscovered papers I forgotten I had and I got all excited just thinking about how to use them. I whipped up a total of 24 Kits (that is two years worth of an average $25 saved) and challenged myself to use them all up before I am allowed to sub to another Kit Club.

My September 2010 Kit included:
3 Sheets of 12 x 12 {{ Cosmo Cricket }}
2 Sheets of 12 x 12 {{ Scenic Route }}
1 Sheet of 12 x 12 Rusty Pickle
3 Sheets of 12 x 12 card stock from {{ Bazzill }} & {{ Frances Meyer }}
endless supply of Alpha Stickers, Stamps, embellishments

And these are the projects I have created so far, but I am nowhere near done :)

Dear Santa...

...I know I have previously asked for {{ him }} to be under my tree this year

Image copyright: Ross Halfin

I'd still like that a lot but as I will see him in concert in January 2011 anyway, I may hold out until then.

Soooo, would it be possible for you to send me this instead?
Image copyright: Amazon.co.uk

I have been a real good girl this year and I really like NEED MUST have before I die WANT this baby. It never appealed to me in the beginning but ot would make life so much more bearable for me when travelling to/from work every day. I get fed up lugging all these heavy books about.

If you really want you can send me the {{ Kindle }} now and leave Mr Campbell for Christmas - I am easy like that, but I just think I deserve something I can fiddle with :)

I'm lovin' it...

I am in love right now....

Did you know that GREY is the new black? Yup, it's a official because my new, most favourite nail polish evah is grey and it's called: new black (I almost peed myself laughing when I saw that). The company is {{ Miss Sporty }} and you can get those from {{ Superdrug }} for a mere £1.99 (approx $3.00).

Mr P always has a pop at me because I prefer to wear black nail polish, so I am sorta trying to do him a favour by using grey, but since then I have totally fallen for that colour. Sad, or what?

What is your favourite nail polish colour? From all comments I will enter a random winner to get a bottle of nail polish in their fave colour...woot woot (and yes, I ship international)

Monkey Business

There is something wicked happening at {{ Some Odd Girl }} - not only is the main site revamped to one of the funkiest and coolest digi shops I have seen in a long time but you can make your mark on the newest member to the SOG family

Who is I... Someoddgirl.com

Name the monkey and win big time.

Check out the skinny {{ here}}, but just to whet your appetite here's a brief run down of what could be yours:
  • a $40 gift certificate to any of the {{ CSN's stores }} (they have pretty much everything your heart desires)
  • a Copic Cia Set donated by {{ iCopic }}
  • a full set of the Monkee release (that is 5 digi stamps)

I wish I could play along....

But hey, at least i could play along to a selection of other challenges using SOG's September FREEbie {{ Bussie }}. I will never know how {{ Kristy }} comes up with all these fun images - espesh considering she is a full time workin' Dude-Momma...
Anyhoo, I digress - even though mojo has somehow been left behind in Norway and despite the fact that all of a sudden my colouring is worse than that of a primate AND that my printer decided to just die on me today, I managed to throw this card together. Not entirely happy with it but with the fact that I combined so many challenges *pushes-chest-out-proudly*

Northern Splendours Pt II

I am so worn out from only four days at the office that you have to look at the next lot of my pictures without too much drivel from me (yay! I can hear you shout....)

** click on any of the picture to enlarge their view **

So, we carried on to {{ Trondheim }} a university city only much prettier than most of the student cities I have come across over the years.

The Nidaros Cathedral

Just to the left of it a super cute old style bridge

Leading to parts of the Old Seaside town

Along some gorgeous Scandinavian houses

Up the hill to the old fortress

Here, once again I had a most fantastic view over the city

And "my" ship had once more difficulties hiding

Shortly before I made the walk back down into town I noticed that Norwegian Television was actually filming a childrens programme inside the fortress. Of course I had to stop and take a picture of this totally cute dragon (and the guy inside the dragon was even cuter...but, shhhhhhhhhh)

The view of leaving Trondheim at any place on deck was just awesome...and it went on for hours like this

Once again, it is my feeties to wave this post goodbye and get a well-earned rest before we hit onto the {{ Lofoten Islands }}
