A Year in Review

It is my day over at the {{Daisy Diaries}} to showcase a project, using many different products from

** click on images to enlarge their view **
Actually, I created the envelope mini book specifically for a magazine call and I have to admit that I am really upset that this was not requested. I think this has to be one of the nicest mini books I have created in the past. But on the other hand it is a good thing the book never made it into {{Scrapbook Trends}}, because otherwise I would have nothing to showcase this month...*giggles*

If you click on {{this link}} it will take you to my post on the blog where you can see some of the other pages I created, but just as a lil taster - here are two which weren't shown on the blog. Enjoy :)

November 2010 - A Summary

November 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
If you can actually call them a gadget, then I would say KNITTING NEEDLES have won this accolade hands down. Within the matter of two months I knitted one jumper, one cardigan and am in the last stages of finishing a minidress/long jumper

Favourite Song:
It's those Ozzy rockers AC/DC again: CAN'T STAND STILL never stood still on my iPod

Favourite TV show
:
Harry Hill's TV BURP - even though not as funny as it used to be, it still cracks us up every Sunday afternoon

Favourite Beverage:
Back on the wine - and it is no surprise that it will either be Shiraz or Syrah

Favourite Food
Fig rolls - DUDE, how I am obsessed with them right now!
The Bad

Fitness:
Hahahahahaha
Fitness - What's that?
My cross trainer is presently used as a clothes horse (and I have no intention of doing anything about it right now)

October 2010 - A Summary

October 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
My new canon printer had quite a few jobs to do this month - mainly my beloved SOG digi stamps :)

Favourite Song:
For some reason, I have been in a total AC/DC mood this month and Jailbreak played over and over again on my iPod

Favourite TV show
:
I really am  not a fan of all this reality show crap, so it is nice to see that some TV stations bring us some worthwhile series, like Downton Abbey. It is based on the old series {{ Upstairs/Downstairs }}, which was known as "Das Haus am Eaton Place" in Germany. I remember that our whole family sat together on Saturdays to watch the programme - good times.

Favourite Beverage:
Ever since I came back from my Norwegian voyage I have been totally into Mai Tai's...a wonderful re-freshing cocktail - but beware, you get drunk quick and the following hangover is not easy to shift
image taken from: http://www.damonandamy.com

Favourite Food
I have found a new love Humus...I never knew that chickpeas could  be so tasty :)

Fitness:
I finally started to exercise again...let's hope I shift the remaining 5 pounds which cling to my hips

The Bad

Health:
Somehow my nosebleeds increased again, during the last two weeks of October I had one almost every day, so I guess I need to the see doctor again

September 2010 - A Summary

September 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
Back to my main squeeze, the iPod Nano

Favourite Song:
There wasn't one that really stood out this month - I have been sharing the love amongst all my faves equally

Favourite TV show
:
I enjoyed watching the re-run of Whitechapel. When it was aired the first time I said to Mr P that I would love it to carry on, as the actors had such great chemistry. Imagine our delight when we found out that next week is  Whitechapel time again - this time featuring copy cat crimes based on The Krays

Favourite Beverage:
Right now, nothing takes my fancy more than traditional cloudy lemonade...mmmmmhhhhh

Favourite Food
The humble scone, with lashings of jam and clotted cream muscled its way into my usually healthy eating scheme.

Health:
Even though the nosebleeds continue to annoy me, I was so relieved that I am finally registered with a dentist and she sorted my gnashers out. That was a weight of my mind, seeing that it took me over three years to finally have a dentist open registrations here on the Island.

The Bad

Expenses:
First my printer broke and then our fridge/freezer. Getting a new F/F wasn't that bad bit, but finding someone who would take it away was a nightmare...

August 2010 - A Summary

August 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
Naturally with my holiday in Norway, it had to be my trusted NIKON D50

Favourite Song:
Black Eyed Peas again with "I Got A Feeling", probably because the Queen Mary 2 House band Vibz played this in their live set during our holiday quite a few times

Favourite TV show
:
I had no time for TV being busy enjoying my time on board the worlds tallest, largest Ocean Liner :)

Favourite Beverage:
It was the Queen Mary 2 house SYRAH...I have never tasted a better Shiraz

Favourite Food
Anything..that was served on board Queen Mary 2 and I have the extended hips to prove it

The Bad

Health:
First I came back from my holiday with a big fat cold. The next weekend I was ill with a major migraine and then my dentist cancelled twice on me this month....can only get better, right?

Work:
Trying to work from home but would you believe it, the minute I get all set up my freakin'  printer dies - ugh. Couldn't the sucker hold out just a month longer???

July 2010 - A Summary

July 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
How boring am I? It is still my iPod Nano

Favourite Song:

Eifersucht by Rammstein

Favourite TV show
:
Generally I don't like it when previously successful TV shows are re-done and in particular when it is my beloved Sherlock Holmes as portrait by Jeremy Brett. But I have to take my hat off to the BBC because the new Sherlock is fabulous!

Favourite Beverage:
It was Lager all the way this month - a real thirst quencher

Favourite Food
Humbugs...my gum and tongue are sore as heck

The Bad

Health:
Even though my nose was cauterised last month I continue to get nose bleeds. So after my holiday I will be back at the surgery for another session...oh joy

Work:
Still not getting better - but I am trying to stay as positive as I can. More work, not enough pay but at least I still have a job and just marked my 4 year anniversary at the company

June 2010 - A Summary

Here we are - six months of the year already gone...whooooosh, wham, bam and Santa is as good as squeezing through that chimney again....
Only six more weeks and I am off on my voyage on board {{ Queen Mary 2 }}...dude, I CANNOT wait.

Before I get to my summary for June, let me quickly share my entry for {{ 2 Sketches 4 You }} with you. I have used the {{ Anjou }} digi stamp from {{ Some Odd Girl }} and the wonderful papers from {{ 3ndypapir }} for this fun card.

Ingredients:
Cardstock: Papermill ** Papers: 3ndypapir ** Stamps: Some Odd Girl ** Stickers: October Afternoon; Jenni Bowlin ** Pens: Uniball Signo

June 2010 Summary

The Good

Favourite Gadget:
Back to my trusted iPod Nano...I would be lost/dead/hysterical without it

Favourite Song:
England Rocks by Down N' Outz...I *heart* England

Favourite TV show:
Mock the Week just returned for a brand new series and whilst I miss Frankie Boyd on the team of panelists, Russell Howard and Andy Parsons are still there and ensure that I get my weekly laughing fits

Favourite Beverage:
The humble Water ties with Lambrini

Favourite Food: Wine Gums of any shape or form were my vice this month....and it shows on my hips

The Bad

Health:
I suffered a lot from high blood pressure and constant nosebleeds this month. Add to that a few migraines and you could say that I have been one poorly puppy in June.

Work:
Stress is a continuous co-worker at the moment. We have been rushed off our feet since December and suffer badly from rude and abusive customers. This led me to create a series of "Insult Tags" using the names our lovely customers tend to call each one of our team...in case you wonder: I am Little Miss Patronising :)

May 2010 - A Summary... and more

THE GOOD

Favourite Gadget:
Of course that has to be my new super dooper {{ zoom lens }}. Why? Well look at the pictures {{ here }} - they can show it better than words can say

Most Played Song:
I am actually not even ashamed to admit that I am going back in time here and am totally re-living the hey days of the {{ Backstreet Boys }} - my daily fix of {{ We've Got It Going On }} is a good-mood fix

Most Enjoyed TV Show:
Still, there is no patch on the original {{ Wallander }}. I will be devastated when this series comes to an end.

Most Used/Abused Beverage:
I had really gone off booze this month and stuck to water

Favourite Food:
Boring - baked potato rocked my world

THE BAD
Again, nothing really happend which would warrant a mention under bad - life is good :)

**************************************************************************************************

Now onto some craft matters - usually I would not mix posts but June is chocka-block full with scheduled posts already, so I have the get creative *wink*

April 2010 - A Summary

THE GOOD

Favourite Gadget:
Without a doubt I have fallen in love- with my {{ Dymo Letra Tag }}. I wanted one of these for years but could never justify the price tag of £20.00 ($30.00). But as I had a windfall of a few hundred £££/$$$ I figured the time had come. My new bessy mate :). Of course a week after I bought it at full price, it started to be available on sale - but hey, that's life

Most Played Song:
This month I have enjoyed the {{ Dixie Chicks }} again, mainly with {{ Let Him Fly }}

Most Enjoyed TV Show:
The original series of {{ Wallander }} is back. And I am more than pleasantly surprised - because after two of the main characters left the series (actress {{ Joanna Saellstroem }} committed suicide in real life and my favourite character Stefan, played by actor {{ Ola Rapace }} was killed off in the last episode of series 2) I never thought it would grip me as much. I should have never doubted Kurt Wallander - series 3 is just as ace as its predecessors!

Most Used/Abused Beverage:
Nothing out of the oridinary - generally {{ Australian Shiraz }} played the main fiddle.

Favourite Food:
Honestly, I just ate anything that wasn't quick enough to escape me :)

THE BAD

Would you believe me if I said that I really did not have anything too bad which engraved itself in my mind this month?!? Well, it is true - getting back to positivity. YAY

March 2010 - A Summary

Yep, I am late...very late for March but I am already working on my April list right now, so I may be on track again soon :)

THE GOOD

Favourite Gadget:
This month I definitely got mega use out of my laptop...re-arranging the design for my blog and playing with the digital stamps from {{ Some Odd Girl }} would have not been possible without my {{ Dell }}.

Most Played Song:
Who would have thought that the {{ Black Eyed Peas }} would hit the top spot with {{ I Gotta Feelin’ }}. Love it!

Most Enjoyed TV Show:
{{ Mock Of The Week }} wins hands down. I am forever loving {{ Andy Parsons }}, {{ Russell Howard }} and {{ Ed Byrne }}. Put these comedy geniuses together with all the other regulars and you have a thigh-slapping, pant-wetting recipe for success
.

Most Used/Abused Beverage:
Would you believe that I have gone soft? Seriously addicted to {{ Cream Soda }} right now....yum yum

Favourite Food:
This has changed quite dramatically as well. I never used to like rice pudding, there was just something about it which made me gag. Then one day, I fancied something sweet and picked up a {{ Muller Rice Custard }}...I have been hooked ever since with my fave being the Toffee Rice.

THE BAD

Exercise:
I managed to actually do two sessions in March, but that is still not good enough.

Time:
Just what exactly is happening with time these days? It used to be that come February, March life would slow down a little and give you a breather, but not so this year. It seems to be pretty much the other way around. There are never enough hours in the day to do what you want to and the silly thing is that I actually reduced my commitments but I am still always playing catch up...go figure
.

February 2010 - A Summary

So, here we are: another month done and dusted - Can't believe there are only 25 more days to go before my birthday.....
But let's not get ahead too quickly and finish the summary for February first.

Even though it was a short month, it was nevertheless a pretty tough and stressful one. I have made a few decisions over the last few days to ensure that my life gets back on track and that I will enjoy my creative process again. Well, then - what DID occur in February?

THE GOOD

Favourite Gadget: This is still my iPod Nano. It never leaves my side and I love the fact that should I need a quick fix of drooling over {{ Vivian Campbell }} or {{ Joe Elliott }} - I just switch to video and get that "aaaaaaawwwwwww" look on my face, when playing the Lep vidz.

Most Played Song: I am surprised to see that Nickelback came up tops again. This time with {{NEVER AGAIN}} from their 2001 album {{ Silver Side Up }}.

Most Enjoyed TV Show: Man, I am SO stoked that {{ the Mentalist }} is back on telly. I love that on screen banter between the characters and the smugness of lead character Jane.

Most Used/Abused Beverage: This month I turned into a real cheap date - as I started to enjoy drinking a few glasses of {{ Cider }} during the weekends. Most of the cider you can get in 2 ltr bottles in the Supermarkets id frowned upon as "tramp juice", but you know what? I don't care - I like it, it tastes pretty similar to sparkling wine and is quite re-freshing.

Favourite Food:Potatoes all the way. By way of jacket with remoulade or as mash - spuds were my best friend this month

THE BAD
Exercise: I still haven't gotten my arse in gear this month and only set foot on my stepper once, for 10 minutes...that is so wrong and I WILL get back into the swing of things, come March! At least I am still maintaining my weight.

Teeth: Another extraction this year 'caused me to feel quite sorry for myself. You can see the full "oh-woe-is-me" story {{ here }}.

The Job: Is still not getting better. Hard times all around but I am sure it will get better again.

January 2010 - A Summary

This year, I have decided to summarise each month on its last day and use the post later on to create a mini album about the year 2010. I am already excited to see how much I am driven by rituals, or how much my tastes and tempers change.
So, let's see how January fared

THE GOOD

Favourite gadget: I am so in love with my IPOD NANO...watching vidz on the go, having 2,000 songs at the tip of my finger..AND it even has a video recorder included.

Most played song this month: FIGURED YOU OUT - Nickelback

Most enjoyed TV show: CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER - the last ever was also the best ever. I never laughed as much or teared up as much at any reality TV show

Most promising band on MySpace: MASQUE - they have been around since the 80's and played in Hollywood's hottest and hippest clubs (the Whiskey & the Roxy, for example). They re-united in 2009, after releasing their CD "Face First" in 2008. Currently Masque are busy recording new material and filming a documentary - scheduled for release this year. I CANNOT WAIT....check out their site (click on their name above), they are so wicked. Take some time to look at their pictures and listen to a few songs, they are really great. If you like what you hear, leave them a comment - they appreciate you support more than anyone! Now if only they come and tour the UK at some stage...*sigh*

Most used/abused beverage: Australian Shiraz....no surprise there, then

Favourite Food: Amazingly enough it was NOT Pizza, but Batchelor's Maccaroni/Cheese pasta pack. I love this particular pack so much that I have it every second day. Yup, without fail and I am not ashamed as it is allowed on the Slimming World Eating Plan...

THE BAD

Exercise: I hate exercise at the best of times, but this month I have been really slackin'...Now that I have lost so much weight I NEED to work hard at keeping the bod' healthy, but I just couldn't be arsed this month. No wonder I only shifted 5lbs from the 10lbs I put on over Xmas.

My Job: It is getting more frustrating by the day. While I am thankful to still have a job, it doesn't mean that I have to be grateful being shouted at by unhappy customers eight hours per day....bleck!

Overall, January was not that bad.  I re-connected with old friends, continue to be healthy and even managed to have a big wad of cash left over at the end of the month.

Bring on February - I can feel the love already
